The One where we all got to go to a Saints playoff game

Even though we were looking forward to our winter break; I was glad to be back in the classroom January 3rd. I really missed my classmates and the city of New Orleans. This month went by weirdly really slow and I don't know why. I felt like we did so much this month I wouldn't know where to begin. All of our new classes are super exciting and its just not plain studying like it was last semester. Although plain studying wasn't a burden, the more interactive approach we have in this semesters classes helps different concepts of pharmacology stick better. Alongside school a lot of us who are to apply this upcoming cycle have started studying for the MCAT diligently. Classes kind of have been a little bit of a break from the strict "head in book" routine we have with this MCAT prep.  Us students of the pharmacology masters program have established a relationship with the organization, UNCF (United Negro College Fund). An organization dedicated to bettering New Orleans by giving scholarships to dedicated students at historically black colleges and universities. The coordinator really loves our dedication when it comes to helping out the organization and invites us out whenever she needs help with something big and fun. Luckily this past month UNCF got nominated to be the charity of the week by the New Orleans Saints at their NFC playoff game against the Carolina Panthers. This meant that from the 50/50 raffle, a charitable gaming raffle, 50% of the proceeds would go towards scholarships for students here in the New Orleans area. We helped sell/collect raffle tickets around the dome during the game and ended up raising $67,000 for scholarships! It was truly an amazing experience.
